アイルランド国民は同性パートナーへの法的権利付与を強く支持──という調査結果が発表された。

Strong Irish Support for Gay Marriage [BGay.com]

A new poll shows that the Irish people strongly supports legal recognition of same-sex partners, with 84% of those polled supporting either gay marriage or civil partnerships.

According to MarriagEquality, who commissioned the poll, only 26% of the 84% supporting some kind of same-sex partner recognition said they support civil partnerships only.

記事によれば、84%が同性結婚（gay marriage）またはシビル・パートナーシップ（婚姻と同等またはそれに準ずる民事契約関係、civil partnerships）のいずれかを支持。反対は前回の33%から26%へダウン。また、こちらの記事によると、同性婚自体に関しては、支持が51%から58%へアップした。

Justice Minister Brian Lenihan is expected to bring forward proposals for a form of civil partnerships at the end of this month, but the Irish government has ruled out gay marriage because it claims this would require a change to the country's constitution and a potentially divisive referendum.

実際、今月末にも法務大臣はシビルパートナーシップ法案の提出を行う予定だ。ただし、同性婚に関しては、憲法上の制約があるためアイルランド政府は法案から除外している。

なんですか、これは。超絶技巧というよりほとんど曲芸技じゃないか──どれだけカロリーを消費しているんだ？というかあの「左手のスケールの練習曲」を足で弾く（蹴る）なんていう発想が凄すぎる……でもキチンと「ショパンの革命」になっているのがホントに凄い。「wzauscher」氏以来の YouTube の（クラシック音楽の）スターだ。

しかもさ、この Cameron Carpenter 氏、 ↓ の映像を見ると結構イケメンじゃないか。

それに……場所は教会（Trinity Church, New York）なんだけど、お客さん（礼拝？）もノリがよく、スーザの《星条旗よ永遠なれ》＆《カルメン幻想曲》（どういう組み合わせだ！）を聴きながら大いに沸いているし。さすが「リベラルな」米国聖公会の教会だ。

The Episcopal Church affirmed at the 1976 General Convention that homosexuals are "children of God" who deserve acceptance and pastoral care from the church. It also called for homosexual persons to have equal protection under secular law.
This was reaffirmed in 1982. In 1994, the GC determined that church membership would not be determined on "marital status, sex, or sexual orientation".
