Comment faut-il bien manger?

『天神茄子：モリタニア日記』の「モナコの王様に隠し子が、という話で」というエントリーで、

ちなみにモナコの連中は「これでウチの王様がホモでないということが証明された。女とヤレンダゾ」と安堵しているそうです。

ということが書いてあった。モナコ公国のアルベール大公に隠し子がいたという『パリ・マッチ』の「スクープ」に関しての内容だが、天下の『ル・モンド』が、こういった差別的なことを＜平然＞と書いているのかと、アタマにきて、当該記事を探した。
多分以下がその記事らしい。

といっても、僕はフランス語がわからないので、altavistaの翻訳（仏語→英語）で読んでみた。

英訳だとこんなニュアンスか。ま、この英訳では（＜翻訳＞を参照する限りにおいては）、同性愛に「相当」する＜言葉＞、ましてや「ホモ」に「相当」する＜蔑称＞（例えば「Fag」のような＜言葉＞）は、見つからない。代わりに皮肉たっぷりというか、「たちの悪い仄めかし（malevolent insinuations）」というヘンリー・ジェイムズ流の「言い方」──それ自体が「仄めかし」であるような──がなされている。

つまり、『パリ・マッチ』──かつて、ミッテラン大統領の隠し子の存在を報道し、左右両陣営のメディアからバカにされた──による隠し子スクープは、（同性愛という周知の）「malevolent insinuations」と比べたら「not dissatisfied 」（まんざらでもない）。ただこの記事は、「そんなことで＜安堵＞しているフランス保護領モナコ」をバカにしている感じがする。

というか、この記事のタイトルが「当局は”パリ・マッチ”の曝露に反対しない」であり、隠し子騒動は「ビジネス（business）」と関連付けられていることを当局は「不問」にしており、そして、この「スキャンダル」が何故、レーニエ大公が逝去したばかりの「今」なのか、とくる。

どうでもよいことだが、このエントリーを書きながら、ジョディ・フォスター主演の映画『告発の行方』を思い出した。
