ブレードランナー社が使うケブラーは1970年代に米デュポン社が商品化した素材で、鋼鉄の5倍の強度があり、軍隊や警察の防弾チョッキに使用されている。軽量で柔軟性があり、手触りや着心地はやや粗めの綿素材といったところ。注文は英国内にとどまらず、米国、豪州、南アフリカからも引き合いがあるという。日本の制服メーカーとも交渉中だそうだ。
